Superbowl Commercials and Twitter

UPDATE: Looks like there’s a much larger Superbowl ad initiative then this one, so I think (for the common good) we should all send our ad ratings/tweets here. Some big names are behind this (@briansolis, @louisgray, @Jesse, @jowyang, @chrisheuer, and @guykawasaki), and I think it makes sense to focus on one.
Last year, Jeremiah Owyang kept track of people’s opinions on the Superbowl commercials via Twitter. I am a HUGE fan of the commercials, and since Jeremy is not able to keep track this year (he’ll be on a plane), I’d like to step in and help. Like to participate? Follow these two simple steps.

Step 1: Follow me @danperry

Step 2: During the game when you see an ad, send a message to me with the name of the brand and your score. We’ll use a 0-5 rating, with 0 being well 0, and 5 being stellar. You are allowed to use 1/2 ratings as well. For instance, if you see a great Budweiser ad, send a tweet that reads:

@danperry Budweiser 4.5

or

@danperry Budweiser 4.5 Really loved the frogs!

Step 3: (Optional) Add a hashtag for folks to follow along – #sbads

That’s it! I’ll tabulate over the weekend, and post the results on Monday or Tuesday depending on the responses and amount of work.

I’m really excited about trying this out, so please follow me and be sure to retweet it!
