I have played the River Course once and it has not been challenged on my list of 409 courses played as yet. A late sept. day in the mid 70's and the trees turning with the river full of spawning salmon on the River course, the best. Not a bad score since I 3 putt about 7 times on these very difficult greens. #13 will make you sweat or your hands to shaking as you take back your club. The tee shot was great, on the green and 4 putt. I played all the courses except the Straits, Would have needed to take out a lone for that one. Great review, this course is very difficult at a 153 slope and many varying holes tied to the river on every corner.

@searchbuzz - Believe it or not, I never ended up in it. One of the guys we played with on Sunday did hit it in here, and the lucky sucker got up and down. :)

@Walt Goshert - The Straits is all about the wind, bunkers, and Lake Michigan. They are a different type of trouble than on the River Course. If I had to pick one to be tougher it would be the Straits, only because the wind/Lake are so daunting, it's easier to lose focus, and once you're in trouble it's tougher to get out. In addition, the Straits doesn't allow carts, so there's an extra layer of fatigue that comes into play.

Wow Dan...

Great review. Loved all the photos. Looks so serene

How much easier than Whistling Straits? Looks like quite few tester holes on this track.
