Flickr Updates Search Results Pages

Yesterday I noticed that Flickr updated their search results page and in my opinion, it’s a wonderful upgrade. Have a look for yourself:

Flickr Updates Search Page

So what changed? Specifically:

Addition of Groups, Photographers, and Top Clusters to the right of the results page that match the query. Very nice (and for the term “golf”, my Golf Directory Group is appearing as #1, and I’m appearing as the #1 Golf Photographer; Woot!)

Tighter display of images

The on-page sorting capabilities went through the roof. Now, the ability to sort by Relevant, Recent or Interesting, as well as Viewing Details (Small, Medium, Details or Slideshow) and finally being able to sort by Photos, Groups or People at the top of the page.

These changes offer the user the ability to really see the page the way they’d like, and specify their queries all in one place.

I love it; great job Flickr!
