although your golf course did its job on me,,I will be back to rectify it. This is the most awesome course I have ever seen. I had so much fun. I have played many nice courses around the country, this is by far the most beautiful, took my breathe away many times. My score wasn’t too impressive, but I did have some great shots and want to return asap. From the staff and the way we were treated , to the course and its beauty, and difficulty on that back nine, to when we left, I can only say I give it my best rating,,thanks again for the wonderful experience.

Dan – you and Kate seem to enjoy golf just like my wife and I. We’re east coast folks and have relatives that live in Grand Rapids. I’ve played some nice courses in Michigan (Hawk Hollow, the Thoroughbred, Arcadia, and a few more). We’re going to play Blackwolf Run and Whistling Straits in June, so I’ll let you know how they stack up against my personal favorites. If I had to rate my best 5, it would be Kiawaha Island’s Ocean Course, Arcadia Bluffs, Pebble Beach, Harbor Town, and Williamsburg’s Golden Horseshoe. Keep it in the short grass….

If I had to pick one (Bay Harbor or Arcadia Bluffs), I’d pick Arcadia Bluffs, only because it’s a half-hour form my parents house. They are both difficult to get to if you’re flying in and both are 5-star courses. I also think the restaurant at Arcadia Bluffs goes above and beyond as well, and the views from the table… outstanding.

I have played a lot of the courses you have reviewed above, including Bay Harbor which might be on par with Arcadia Bluffs (what do you think?), but have yet to play Arcadia. Maybe 2009 will be the year? Nice post, after reading it I’m dying for spring to be here now!
